Prior to joining the San Diego County Sheriff's Office as a sworn member, Nancy served as a citizen volunteer with the Sheriff's Office for six years, working in the Imperial Beach, Lemon Grove, and Rancho San Diego areas of the county.
Nancy joined the Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff, graduating from the San Diego County Regional Law Enforcement Academy in early 2001. Throughout her career, she has rose through the ranks from Deputy Sheriff to Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain, all while having the opportunity to work a variety of assignments in detentions, patrol, community policing, investigations, undercover operations, communication center, human resources, several specialized positions within our Reserve Deputy Sheriff units, and the Office of the Sheriff. In March 2024, Nancy promoted to the rank of Commander and now oversee the investigative operations within our Law Enforcement Services Bureau.
Nancy obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. She is a graduate from the POST Supervisory Leadership Institute, the San Diego Regional Leadership Institute, and the Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP) in Boston, Massachusetts.
