Nothing suspicious was found at a North County elementary school after a bomb threat led to the evacuation of students and staff.

Deputies from the San Marcos Sheriff's Station arrived at the school within minutes of the call. The deputies immediately contacted school officials and informed them about the threat.  For the safety of students and staff, school administrators made the decision to evacuate the school.  Deputies worked with school staff to ensure the safe and orderly evacuation of San Marcos Elementary.

After the evacuation, school staff confirmed all students were accounted for. School buses then transported the students to San Marcos Middle School, where they were reunited with their families.

Sheriff's Deputies searched the entire campus along with officers and bomb sniffing dogs from Cal State San Marcos Police Department and San Diego State University Police Department. The search was completed just before 4:00 p.m. and nothing suspicious was found.  The school was then released to the San Marcos Unified School District.
