LOCATION: 1500 Presioca Street, Spring Valley
DECEASED: David Martinez, 67-years-old
SUSPECT: Unidentified

The Medical Examiner's Office conducted the autopsy today and has identified the victim as sixty-seven-year-old David Martinez. Martinez is a resident of the city of San Diego. The victim's family has been notified of his death. The preliminary cause of death is gunshot wounds to the head and the manner of death is homicide.

Information from prior release:

On April 15, 2021 at about 5:30 p.m., Sheriff's deputies responded to the 1500 block of Presioca Street in Spring Valley for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found an adult male lying in the street with trauma to his upper body. Unfortunately, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.   

The Sheriff's Homicide Unit responded and has assumed responsibility of the investigation. 

The identity of the male is known to investigators; however, his name is being withheld pending family notification.
