David Perkins is a Lieutenant in the Office of the Sheriff, assigned to the Division of Inspectional Services (D.I.S.). During his 22-year law enforcement career, he has worked various positions involving Corrections, Patrol, Community Oriented Policing, the Psychological Emergency Response Team (PERT), Training, Traffic, and Alternative Custody. Lieutenant Perkins has worked in multiple Sheriff’s Command areas, including the San Marcos Station, the North Coastal Station, the Vista Station, the County Parole and Alternative Custody Unit (CPAC), Sheriff’s Headquarters, and the Rancho San Diego Station. Lieutenant Perkins is the Sheriff’s Office Standards and Compliance Manager. D.I.S. assesses internal processes and reviews high-risk events to promote a more efficient, effective, and economical operational environment throughout the Office.
