Theresa Adams-Hydar was promoted to Assistant Sheriff in February 2022. During her 29 year career, she has worked a variety of positions including, Detentions, Patrol, Community Oriented Policing, Area Investigations, Gang and Narcotic Investigations, Personnel, Internal Affairs, Special Investigations and Emergency Services. In her current assignment, Theresa commands the Detentions Services Bureau. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Spanish, and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management. She also serves as an instructor at the Sheriff’ POST Supervisor Course and is an FBI National Academy graduate. She is married with two children and resides in northern San Diego County.
